A skid only has a top deck.
Pallets are used for transport, while skids are usually used for storing heavy objects.
What is the difference between 2-way and 4-way pallets?

2-way entry pallets are pallets that can only be entered from two sides, while 4-way entry pallets can be entered from all four sides. The entry points are the spaces between the boards on the pallet deck where the forks of a forklift can be inserted to lift and move the pallet.
